About MicroAGI

MicroAGI builds data infrastructure for general-purpose robotics. We capture real-world video and sensor data from human operators performing everyday tasks and deliver structured datasets to the companies training embodied AI systems. We’ve raised over $10M from Village Global and LocalGlobe, and we operate across Europe, India, and South Africa.

Our platform, Shift, is a consumer-facing mobile app that connects people worldwide to paid data collection tasks. It’s live in multiple countries today, and we’re building it to support millions of contributors.

The Role

You’ll work across the Android app and the backend services that power it. The scope is broad – you’ll move between mobile and server-side work depending on what matters most at any given time.

Day to day, this means building features and infrastructure across the full stack: extending backend services and APIs (we run Kotlin and Python on GCP), working on authentication and onboarding flows across different countries and regulatory environments, improving the mobile recording and upload experience, contributing to payment infrastructure so operators get paid reliably worldwide, and enabling users to connect external capture devices to the app. The product serves a global user base and needs to work well across a wide range of devices and network conditions.

It’s a small team with a lot of surface area, so you’ll have significant ownership over what you build and

how.

What We’re Looking For

Required

• Strong Kotlin and Android development experience
• Backend development – API design, data storage, cloud deployment. We use Python (FastAPI) and Kotlin (Ktor) with PostgreSQL. You will write backend code regularly
• GCP experience – Cloud Storage, Cloud Run, BigQuery, or comparable depth
• Familiarity with authentication systems – OTP, token management, session handling
• High ownership and initiative – we don’t write detailed specs

Strong pluses

• iOS/Swift experience
• Payment integrations (Stripe, global payouts)
• Experience building for emerging markets and diverse Android ecosystems
• Interest in robotics and embodied AI
• Located in or willing to relocate to Munich
