The technical platform at Alten is structured around several competence centers within Engineering and IT sectors, led by Project Directors who play a key role in project execution and performance:
Main Responsibilities
Project Management & Delivery
- Lead a portfolio of projects, ensuring high-quality delivery, on-time execution, and strong financial performance.
- Oversee project execution, proactively manage risks, and drive corrective actions when needed.
- Ensure alignment with delivery objectives, timelines, and profitability targets.
- Identify, monitor, and manage project risks, ensuring effective mitigation actions throughout the project lifecycle.
Team Leadership & Organization
- Manage, coach, and develop Project Leaders and multidisciplinary teams, with a strong emphasis on team leadership.
- Define team structures and allocate resources to maximize efficiency and performance.
- Foster a strong delivery culture focused on accountability, execution, and continuous improvement.
- Define objectives and KPIs and monitor them to support team success.
Delivery Optimization & Transformation
- Drive improvements in delivery models and project organization.
- Identify opportunities to increase efficiency, scalability, and productivity.
- Support transformation initiatives, including near- and off-shore delivery models.
Pre-Sales Support
- Support Business Managers in their Business Development activities, from pre-sales to offer preparation.
- Coordinate effort and cost estimations.
- Define and align activity planning.
- Support the preparation of technical proposals.
- Anticipate key project risks and ensure mitigation plans are defined and implemented during both bid and delivery phases.
Profile & Experience
- Proven experience managing medium-to-large-scale projects.
- Strong background in team leadership and people management, complemented by solid experience in project delivery and operations.
- Academic background and professional experience in Engineering or IT sectors, preferably within consulting environments. Knowledge of electrification / electrical infrastructure sector would be a plus.
- Experience in consulting or service-based companies is a plus.
- Experience working with international or distributed teams is a plus.
- Exposure to pre-sales or bid support is valued.
