An experienced Data Protection Officer is sought to provide short-term cover in a standalone, high-impact role. This opportunity is well suited to an established privacy professional who can step in quickly and ensure continuity across all areas of data protection and compliance.
The successful candidate will maintain and enhance core data protection frameworks, including reviewing the Record of Processing Activities (RoPA) and Legitimate Interests Assessments (LIA). Responsibilities include managing Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs), overseeing data breaches, and conducting Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) as required. The role also serves as the primary point of contact for the Data Protection Commission, delivers internal training, and manages Freedom of Information requests. In addition, the position coordinates IT and cyber security initiatives, leads on cyber incident notifications and staff advisories, provides ongoing data protection guidance, and liaises with relevant regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with lobbying requirements.
It is expected that you have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Data Protection / DPO role with demonstrated expertise in GDPR and Irish data protection practices
