Or going through ten different apps and hospital portals to stitch together your medical history, in Latin. Healthcare systems are designed for the providers, and leave people feeling passive and ill-understood. In other words, they force us to be patient. We think that should be different, by putting you and your loved ones at the heart of care. That ambition is - naturally - universal and thus actually global.

What?

With Ditto. Our technology allows everyone to capture, explain, and share meaningful interactions about health. Today, that is an AI-powered app that clarifies any healthcare encounter and document. Soon, we grow towards a platform that allows you to keep track of your own healthcare, invite loved ones to follow your care journey, and vice versa. In short: we want to build the Polarsteps for Health.

Who?

A young yet turbo ambitious and experienced team, with little patience for the status quo. We're driven by a shared mission and excited about building fast and purposefully. Days after launch, we reached #1 healthcare app in the Netherlands and got covered by 15 newspapers.

Who You Are

You're an engineer with deep mobile fundamentals (concurrency, memory management, platform APIs, architecture) who has discovered that agentic engineering is the biggest force multiplier since the creation of high-level languages. You don't just use AI tools; you orchestrate them. You design multi-step agent workflows, you know when to trust agent output and when to intervene, and you understand that the real skill isn't generating code, it's maintaining quality, security, and architectural coherence at the speed agents enable. At Ditto, agentic engineering isn't a nice-to-have, it's how we build. You're actively pushing the boundaries of what's possible, not because it's trendy, but because you've seen what happens when strong fundamentals meet AI-native workflows: exceptional software, shipped fast, without cutting corners.

But AI agents don't make you a unicorn mobile dev. Before the big AI-bang, you already built extensive experience, ideally cross-platform. You know the ins and outs of SwiftUI and Kotlin. You pixel-peep when needed, and you're assertive in suggesting improvements on designs and flows. Hand-over from design is outdated, you are an active and continuous partner with designers. If Claude goes down tomorrow, you still ship.

Above all, you are a fanatic team player driven by Ditto's mission: making healthcare understandable for hundreds of thousands of patients. We are mission-first, and that should resonate deeply. Key Responsibilities

Build at pace, without compromise

• Take full ownership of Ditto’s mobile applications across iOS and Android.
• Leverage agentic engineering workflows to ship at startup speed while maintaining production-grade quality . The hard part isn’t going fast, it’s going fast without accumulating debt.
• Design tangible, practical solutions. Push back when our bold ambitions are technically harder than we naively think.
  
  

Think secure

• Ensure secure-by-default from day one. In a healthcare context handling sensitive patient data, this is non-negotiable.
• Apply security best practices in every line ,  whether you wrote it or an agent did.
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate risks proactively.
  
  

Product collaboration

• Understand the business need behind every change.
• Work closely with product to translate requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Ensure flexible architecture that can survive significant pivots.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Proven track record as a Senior Mobile Engineer or equivalent.
• Expertise in native iOS and Android development and cross-platform tooling.
• Strong software architecture and system design fundamentals .  This is the foundation everything else is built on.
• Demonstrated agentic engineering practice (e.g. Claude Code, Cursor, multi-agent systems). We don’t mean “I’ve used Copilot autocomplete.” We mean you’ve integrated AI agents into how you design, build, review, and ship software.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Startup experience , You know what it means to own a problem end to end with limited resources.
• Familiarity with the Dutch healthcare system or experience in regulated industries.
• Contributions to open-source projects or public technical writing.
