About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled UX/UI Designer with a strong focus on design systems to join our team remotely, preferably within CST/EST zones. In this role, you will lead the development and evolution of our insurance e-commerce platform’s design system, leveraging advanced Figma capabilities and AI tools like Make to create scalable, intelligent design libraries. Your expertise will bridge the gap between high-level product concepts and developer implementation, ensuring our design system is both robust and adaptive. You will be responsible for maintaining a comprehensive component library for over 50 insurance sites, refining design tokens, and ensuring accessibility and ethical standards are embedded throughout all design processes. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence the future of digital insurance experiences through innovative design and technical stewardship.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional UX/UI design experience, especially within complex, data-driven environments such as Insurance, FinTech, or SaaS.
  • Deep proficiency in Figma, including Auto Layout, Variables, Components, and Figma AI/Make features.
  • Experience managing or contributing to large-scale Design Systems.
  • Strong understanding of form design and information architecture.
  • Proven ability to work with AI-powered design tools and prompt engineering.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and sell design visions to stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of WCAG accessibility standards and ethical UI/UX practices.
  • Experience in responsive design, component documentation, and developer handoff processes.
  • Ability to work independently in a virtual environment and adapt to different time zones, with a preference for candidates in CST/EST zones.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and evolve a comprehensive component library for over 50 insurance e-commerce sites, ensuring consistency and scalability.
  • Architect and refine design tokens related to color, spacing, typography, grounded in a semantic layer aligned with engineering standards.
  • Lead the technical process of priming AI tools like Figma Make, ensuring they understand and utilize design tokens for system-aware layout generation.
  • Execute the full design lifecycle, including wireframing, prototyping, and visual logic implementation to present complex insurance data effectively.
  • Train Product Managers and other stakeholders on AI-assisted design workflows, enabling rapid iteration and seamless developer handoff.
  • Create detailed, developer-ready documentation encompassing interaction states, variable logic, and responsive breakpoints.
  • Ensure all components and designs adhere to WCAG accessibility standards and promote inclusive, plainspoken UI patterns.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align design strategies with business goals and technical constraints.
  • Advocate for best practices in ethical UI/UX design and contribute to continuous improvement of design systems.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive health insurance including medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Retirement savings plan with employer contributions.
  • Employee stock purchase plan and potential eligibility for long-term incentive awards.
  • Paid time off including 15 vacation days, 12 paid holidays, and paid sick leave.
  • Flexible work arrangements and remote working options.
  • Wellbeing initiatives such as two annual "Global Wellbeing Days."
  • Access to learning and development programs to support career growth.
  • Supportive and inclusive workplace culture fostering diversity and belonging.
  • Additional perks such as adoption assistance, tuition reimbursement, commuter benefits, and employee assistance programs.
