Technical Lead

We are looking for a Tech Lead to lead our R&D and Tech team, with a strong focus on embedded systems and electrical engineering. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone with a solid hardware background who enjoys combining technical direction, execution, and people leadership.

You will join a young, international, and multidisciplinary team with expertise across soil science, embedded systems, data analysis and engineering, and field deployment. In this role, you will help shape the next generation of Agurotech products by driving hardware development, supporting and guiding engineers, and ensuring reliable product delivery from concept and development through to launch and ongoing improvement.

• Lead the hiring, onboarding, and development of the technology team, while fostering a strong, collaborative, and high-performing team culture.
• Support team building, people management, and the professional growth of team members.
• Define priorities for embedded systems and product development, ensuring alignment with company goals and product roadmap.
• Review ongoing development work and oversee the global OTA release process, including quality, planning, and execution.
• Define and structure hardware development projects, and support electronics engineers through technical reviews, prioritization, and decision-making.
• Troubleshoot and help resolve key product and customer issues, especially where technical complexity or urgency is high.
• Lead the weekly sprint process, ensuring clear planning, execution, follow-up, and accountability across the team.
• Own and coordinate certification processes for Agurotech products, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and requirements.
• Define and oversee testing strategies for new product launches, product features, and hardware/software updates.
• Act as the main liaison between the hardware/embedded team and the software team to ensure smooth collaboration and integration.
• Ensure technical execution is structured, scalable, and focused on delivering reliable products to the market.
• Take the lead and ownership of our hardware R&D projects from start to finish

• A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in a technical leadership role within hardware, electronics, or embedded systems development.
• Strong hands-on experience with electrical engineering, firmware development and hardware product development.
• Familiarity with OTA updates and release processes for embedded products.
• Experience leading engineers and helping teams grow, both technically and professionally.
• Ability to set technical direction, organize development work, and drive execution in a structured way.
• Experience with testing, validation, and certification processes for hardware products.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to support resolution of complex technical and product issues.
• Experience working in cross-functional environments and collaborating closely with software teams.
• Comfortable working in a fast-growing company where priorities can evolve and teams are scaling.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to create alignment across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Hands-on enough to be able to debug firmware and hardware problems using oscilloscope, multimeter, soldering station

• Experience with IoT devices, sensor systems, weather stations, or other connected hardware products.
• Experience in agricultural technology or other field-based hardware environments.
• Experience in adjacent industries such as automotive, medical devices, or consumer electronics, provided you bring strong hands-on hardware and embedded systems expertise.
• Expertise with CAD tools such as Altium or KiCad
• Experience with embedded software: C, Rust, Zephyr RTOS
