About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior System Developer with strong Svelte expertise to join a large-scale system renewal project.

The end client is a public sector research and expert organization focused on building a sustainable future based on renewable natural resources.

You will be involved from the early design phase, with a real opportunity to influence the long-term technical direction and architecture of the system.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the frontend modernization from Svelte 3 to Svelte 5
• Improve and simplify frontend architecture, reducing framework dependency
• Design and implement new functional and technical features
• Contribute to architecture decisions and system design
• Work hands-on with development while maintaining a strategic overview

Mandatory Requirements

• Several years of experience with Svelte
• Strong skills in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
• Experience in application development and architecture design
• Ability to understand and manage large-scale systems
• Hands-on mindset combining design and implementation
• Fluent Finnish (mandatory) + English

Nice to have

• Experience with frontend architecture modernization projects
• Background in public sector or research environments
• Familiarity with scalable and maintainable UI design principles
