About The Role

Metalcraft of Mayville is seeking a talented UI / Front-End Developer to join our dynamic IT team. This role is pivotal in developing modern, responsive, and user-friendly web applications that enhance both internal operations and customer engagement. The successful candidate will work closely with software developers and architects to translate design concepts into functional interfaces, modernize existing applications, and contribute to the overall digital transformation initiatives of the organization. Please note, this is an onsite role based in Mayville, Wisconsin, and does not support remote work arrangements.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, Information Systems, or a related field, or demonstrate equivalent practical experience. Candidates should have 1 to 3 years of front-end development experience, including familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Experience working with modern front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Next.js is essential. Additionally, the candidate should have a good understanding of integrating REST APIs into applications, responsive design principles, and cross-browser compatibility. Basic knowledge of version control systems like Git is required. Candidates with experience in manufacturing or industrial environments, UI frameworks, component libraries, and Azure-based applications will have an advantage. Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies and enterprise systems is also preferred. Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative mindset are critical for success in this role.

Responsibilities

The UI / Front-End Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining responsive web interfaces that are intuitive and efficient. Key responsibilities include translating UI/UX designs and wireframes into high-quality front-end code, building and maintaining components using frameworks such as React, Angular, or Next.js, and collaborating with backend developers to integrate RESTful APIs and services. The role involves updating and modernizing legacy front-end codebases, ensuring applications are optimized for performance, usability, and accessibility standards. The developer will troubleshoot and resolve UI bugs and performance issues, participate in code reviews, and contribute to establishing front-end development standards. Additionally, the role includes supporting testing and deployment processes across development and production environments, managing development tasks using version control and issue tracking tools, and contributing to the creation of reusable UI components and consistent interface design.
