The Opportunity
Join one of Australia's largest federal government departments and play a key role in delivering digital services that support millions of Australians.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Scrum Master (APS6 / EL1 equivalent) to support, coach and lead agile delivery teams, working closely with Delivery Managers and Product Owners to optimise performance and outcomes.
The Role
Working under broad direction, you will exercise a high degree of independence and leadership. You will coach teams in agile values and practices, remove impediments, and help teams continuously improve their delivery capability while maintaining focus on business and user outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Coach teams in agile values, principles and practices
- Facilitate agile ceremonies including stand‑ups, sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives
- Remove blockers and protect teams from external disruptions
- Support teams to plan, commit to and achieve delivery goals
- Work with Product Owners to prioritise and refine backlogs
- Improve team cohesion, performance, velocity and delivery flow
- Manage risks, dependencies and delivery challenges
- Engage with stakeholders and represent teams in forums and meetings
- Mentor Scrum Masters and contribute to agile communities of practice
- Support continuous improvement, innovation and change initiatives
What You'll Need
Essential
- Minimum 3 years' experience as a Scrum Master supporting MDTs
- Strong knowledge of agile values, principles and practices
- Experience facilitating agile ceremonies and improving team performance
- Experience working with tools such as Jira
- Ability to obtain Baseline Security Clearance
- Experience in large‑scale government or enterprise environment
