For a complex and business-critical IT environment, we are looking for an experienced Network Security Engineer who will help ensure the reliability, security, and further development of network and communication services.

You will work from Zwijndrecht, in an international yet locally anchored organization, where IT plays a key role in both office and operational activities.

📍 Project Details

• Start: ASAP
• Workload: Full-time - long-term
• Location: Zwijndrecht (Hybrid — 3 days onsite/week)
• Languages: Fluent in Dutch + English

🎯 Your Role

As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, managing, and improving network solutions within a complex enterprise environment.

You combine hands-on technical expertise with a strong focus on architecture, standardization, and security.

You will collaborate closely with fellow engineers and other IT teams, acting as a key point of contact for network-related topics.

🔧 Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize LAN / WAN / WLAN environments
• Implement and maintain firewalls, VPN solutions, and network segmentation
• Troubleshoot complex network and connectivity issues
• Contribute to network architecture and standardization
• Help build a secure and scalable network infrastructure
• Document network architectures, configurations, and procedures
• Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders

💡 Technical Requirements

• Proven experience in complex network & communication services
• Strong knowledge of:
• Routing & Switching
• Firewalls & Network Security
• VPN Solutions
• Network Segmentation
• Network Architecture & Best Practices
• Experience in enterprise environments is a strong plus

• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Able to work independently and take ownership
• Strategic thinker with a long-term and structured mindset
• Dutch speaking (required), English is a plus
• Based in or near Zwijndrecht
