Java Specialist

We are looking for a Mid Java Developer (3+ years of experience) to join a project focused on the creation of a center of excellence for a leading multinational fintech company, in a hybrid model with 2 days per week on-site in Lisbon and 3 days working from home. The start date is as soon as possible.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend applications using Java 8+ in line with the project’s technical standards and delivery goals.
• Build, enhance, and support services based on Spring and Spring Boot frameworks.
• Design, implement, and optimize integrations with relational databases, including Oracle Database and PostgreSQL, using SQL.
• Work with JPA and Hibernate for persistence layer development and data access management.
• Contribute to the implementation of application architecture principles, including microservices-based and hexagonal architecture patterns.
• Participate in CI/CD processes to support code integration, delivery pipelines, and deployment workflows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional team members in an Agile Scrum environment to deliver incremental solutions.
• Contribute to technical discussions and support the evolution of backend solutions within a center of excellence setup.
• When relevant, support frontend-related activities in Java-based user interface frameworks or other UI frameworks.
• Contribute to cloud-related initiatives involving Amazon Web Services (AWS) or similar cloud platforms when applicable.

Must-Have Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in Java Backend development with strong theoretical knowledge in Java 8 or higher.
• Proven experience with Spring and Spring Boot.
• Practical experience with relational databases, including Oracle Database, PostgreSQL, and SQL.
• Experience with JPA and Hibernate.
• Knowledge of application architecture, namely microservices-based architecture and hexagonal architecture.
• Experience with CI/CD.
• English proficiency.
