About the role:

We are looking for an Industrial Network Engineer who will work at the intersection of networking, automation, and intralogistics. In this role, you will design, secure, and maintain the network infrastructure that keeps automated warehouses running — from conveyors and robots to PLCs and warehouse management systems.

What you will do:

• Design and implement industrial network infrastructures tailored to intralogistics systems, ensuring reliable communication between conveyors, robots, and warehouse management systems.
• Configure Fortinet FortiGate firewalls, including setting up security policies and VPNs to protect the IT infrastructure from internal and external threats.
• Install and configure Cisco switches and routers to ensure a stable, high-performance network environment.
• Analyze and resolve network disruptions to maintain smooth and continuous facility operations.
• Collaborate with automation and PLC technicians to ensure seamless integration of network components into plant control systems.
• Create and maintain network documentation, including network diagrams, configuration records, and maintenance logs.

What we’re looking for:

• Practical experience with Fortinet FortiGate firewalls (FCP certification is an advantage).
• Strong knowledge of Cisco networking; CCNA certification is an advantage.
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, OSPF, BGP, and related network protocols.
• Experience with industrial communication protocols such as PROFINET or EtherNet/IP, or willingness to learn.
• Ability to diagnose network issues using tools such as SNMP and Wireshark.
• Understanding of OT security principles (e.g., IEC 62443) or willingness to learn.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently on customer sites.
• Flexibility for travel to customer sites approx. 1 week per month.
• Fluent English skills, both spoken and written to cooperate with colleagues from other countries.
