Network System Engineer (SDN)

Location: On-site position for an institution in Luxembourg.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Technology Expert - Network (SDN). The candidate will join a multidisciplinary team with various skills and responsibilities. They will contribute to the design, deployment, and maintenance of modern SDN technologies within a dynamic and innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, plan, develop, and implement SDN solutions.
• Provide hands-on support for SDN technology, ensuring optimal performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in network architecture.
• Collaborate with team members to analyze information, define and prioritize requirements, and evaluate potential solutions.
• Provide expert advice and assistance on SDN technology, including architectural considerations and best practices.
• Ensure compliance with IT security standards across the Institution's SDN infrastructure.
• Participate in project-related documentation and contribute to design vision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience of at least 5 years as a Technology Expert in SDN or a similar role.
• In-depth knowledge and hands-on expertise in SDN, NFV, and network automation tools.
• Strong understanding of routing, switching, and network virtualization technologies.
• Capability to write clear and structured technical documents.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
• Previous experience as a technology expert in at least one of the following areas:
• Network Automation Tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet)
• Cloud Technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
• Cybersecurity Tools (e.g., firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection)
• Virtualization Technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM)

Nice to Have

• General knowledge of networking and ICT infrastructure.
• System engineer expertise with experience in on-premise and hybrid environments.
• Previous experience in an Agile environment (certification in PM2-Agile or equivalent desirable).
• Knowledge of API integration and network configuration.
• Experience in EU institutions or working in an international/multicultural environment.
