Python Developer | 3-Month Contract (View to Extend) | Melbourne-Based

Our client is seeking an experienced Python Developer for an initial 3-month contract with a view to extend, based in Melbourne. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams and applying your expertise in Python to solve real-world challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and optimise Python scripts for various business applications.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Troubleshoot and debug existing Python scripts, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
• Implement and uphold best practices in Python development including code reviews, testing, and documentation.
• Leverage Python libraries and frameworks (e.g. NumPy, Pandas, Django, Flask) to enhance functionality and performance.
• Contribute to the design and architecture of scalable, reliable, and secure Python-based solutions.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and tools in Python development.

Skills and Experience:

• Proven experience as a Software Engineer with a strong focus on Python.
• Proficiency in Python, with deep understanding of its syntax, data structures, and ecosystem.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to write clean, maintainable code.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and version control tools (e.g. Git).
• Experience with key Python libraries/frameworks (NumPy, Pandas, Django, Flask) is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Location: Melbourne (Hybrid flexibility)
