About The Role

Ascendion is seeking a skilled and passionate Android Developer to join our team in Toronto, Ontario. In this role, you will be focused on building and enhancing Payfare’s Android applications, ensuring high performance and seamless integration with backend services and third-party platforms. You will collaborate with designers, product managers, and other developers to build intuitive, scalable mobile experiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain native Android mobile applications
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement new features
• Ensure optimal performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks and bugs
• Create new applications from the ground up when needed
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable Kotlin code using MVVM and MVP architectures
• Stay current with latest Android development practices and tools
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in Android development
• Proficiency in Kotlin and deep understanding of MVVM/MVP architectures
• Solid knowledge of Android framework components and lifecycle
• Strong fundamentals in OOP, data structures, and algorithms
• Experience working with RESTful APIs and multithreaded programming
• Familiarity with Git and Android development tools (testing, debugging, benchmarking)
• Comfortable collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams in an agile environment
• A passion for building delightful mobile experiences and improving code quality continuously
  
  

Salary Range: CAD $92,000 – $104,000 annually

Note: Compensation is based on factors such as experience, skills, education, and market alignment.
