Job Description – Network Engineer
Location: Prince Albert, SK S6V 1G2, Canada
Duration: One-time dispatch
Start Date: ASAP
Job Purpose: To troubleshoot and restore communication to the PC3D-R unit that has gone offline. If troubleshooting fails, replace the faulty unit with a backup PC3D-R and ensure the system is brought back online and fully operational.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel onsite to client location in Prince Albert, SK.
- Troubleshoot the offline PC3D-R sensor unit by:
- Checking POE injector, cabling, and switch port.
- Verifying IP, subnet, and gateway configuration.
- Inspecting mounting and hardware connections.
- Attempt to restore the existing unit back online.
- If unsuccessful, install and configure the backup PC3D-R + POE + Patch Cable shipped to site.
- Reconfigure network settings as per provided details (IP: 192.168.1.253, Subnet: 255.255.255.0, Gateway: 192.168.1.1).
- Test connectivity and confirm proper sensor operation at the Main Entrance.
- Document steps taken, resolution status, and provide final sign-off.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with network hardware troubleshooting (switches, POE, patch cabling).
- Knowledge of IP addressing and subnet configuration.
- Familiarity with sensor/IoT device installation.
- Ability to replace and configure hardware independently.
- Strong problem-solving and reporting skills.
Tools / Equipment Required
- Standard technician toolkit (screwdrivers, cable tester, etc.).
- Laptop for network configuration and validation.
- Replacement parts shipped: PC3D-R unit, POE injector, patch cable.
