About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Android Developer to join our dynamic team on a 6-month contract basis. This role is primarily remote, based in London, offering the opportunity to work on cutting-edge mobile applications that serve millions of users across England. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing features within the Android version of our client's application, ensuring a seamless user experience and high-quality performance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, product management, infrastructure, and testing to deliver innovative solutions that meet business needs and user expectations.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess over 5 years of experience in Android development, with a strong proficiency in Kotlin and Android Studio. A deep understanding of Android design principles, interface guidelines, and architecture patterns such as MVVM is essential. Candidates should demonstrate a passion for mobile development, keeping abreast of the latest industry trends and best practices. Experience with DevOps practices, continuous integration and delivery pipelines, and troubleshooting application bugs is highly desirable. Familiarity with Jetpack Compose, native OS features, RESTful API integration, and concurrency management will be advantageous. Candidates should also have a solid grasp of memory management, analytics, and performance optimization techniques.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to design, document, and develop scalable, high-quality solutions for the Android application using Kotlin.
- Create and maintain comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure code reliability and stability.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code adhering to industry best practices and coding standards.
- Optimize application performance and responsiveness to deliver an exceptional user experience.
- Ensure compliance with Google Play Store requirements and guidelines.
- Partner with UI/UX designers to implement visually consistent and intuitive interfaces.
- Support deployed features in production, troubleshooting issues, and deploying fixes promptly.
- Continuously improve application features based on user feedback and analytics data.
- Participate in code reviews, team meetings, and Agile ceremonies to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Stay updated with the latest Android development tools, frameworks, and industry trends.
