About The Role
We are seeking a skilled iOS Developer to join our dynamic team working on the NHS App, a critical digital health platform serving millions of users across England. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining features for the iOS version of the application. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team comprising designers, product managers, infrastructure specialists, and testers to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions that provide a seamless user experience. Your expertise will be vital in designing, coding, testing, and deploying new features while ensuring the stability and performance of existing functionalities. Throughout the product lifecycle, you will produce well-documented, efficient, and reliable code, adhering to best practices and industry standards to meet the high expectations of healthcare users and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in iOS development, with a strong command of Swift, SwiftUI, and Xcode. You should possess a passion for mobile development and stay current with the latest iOS trends and best practices. A solid understanding of iOS design principles and interface guidelines is essential, along with familiarity with MVVM architecture and design patterns. Experience applying SOLID principles to improve code quality and maintainability is highly desirable. Candidates should have a DevOps mindset, understanding how software development integrates with infrastructure, including continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines. Proficiency in troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization is required, as well as experience working with RESTful APIs, native OS features like push notifications and HealthKit, and handling concurrency. Knowledge of Swift Package Manager and mobile analytics tools will be advantageous. A collaborative approach and strong problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role.

Your primary responsibilities will include working closely with a cross-functional team to design, develop, and document scalable, high-quality solutions for the NHS App's iOS platform using Swift and SwiftUI. You will create comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure code reliability and maintainability. Writing clean, efficient, and well-structured code following best practices and coding standards is crucial. You will optimize solutions for performance and speed to enhance user experience and ensure the application complies with Apple App Store requirements. Collaborating with UI/UX designers to implement consistent and intuitive visual designs is essential. You will also support your deliverables in production, troubleshooting issues, and implementing performance improvements as needed. Additionally, you will stay up-to-date with iOS development trends, contribute to continuous improvement, and assist in maintaining the application's stability and security throughout its lifecycle.
