About The Role
We are seeking a talented Mobile Front End Engineer to join our team and contribute to a pivotal federal program. In this role, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including backend engineers, designers, and product owners to build and enhance user interfaces that are both functional and visually aligned with design specifications. Your expertise will help shape the architecture and data flow of the application, ensuring seamless integration with backend services and optimal performance across devices. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on projects that have a meaningful impact on millions of Americans, leveraging your skills to improve government digital services.
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of front-end or mobile application development experience (web, mobile, or hybrid).
- Proficiency with React.js and experience with React Native or similar mobile frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of Javascript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design principles.
- Experience integrating front-end applications with RESTful APIs, working with JSON, and handling authentication flows.
- Familiarity with mobile UI/UX patterns, browser/mobile interoperability, and performance optimization techniques.
- Comfortable working within Agile/Scrum teams, utilizing version control systems like Git, and managing tasks via ticketing tools such as JIRA.
- Basic understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) and federal compliance requirements (NIST, VA standards) is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with product owners, backend engineers, and designers.
- Authorization to work in the United States; certain roles may require U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain security clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement user interfaces for mobile and web applications that align with design specifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data formats, architecture choices, and technical solutions.
- Integrate front-end components with backend RESTful APIs, ensuring data security and integrity.
- Optimize applications for performance, responsiveness, and accessibility across various devices and browsers.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, contribute to sprint planning, and provide technical input on project timelines.
- Maintain and improve existing codebases, troubleshoot issues, and implement enhancements based on user feedback.
- Ensure compliance with federal standards and accessibility guidelines during development.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders and team members.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support project success.
