About The Role
We are seeking a passionate Frontend Engineer with a strong focus on UI/UX to join our team as Lead I - Software Engineering. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining high-quality, responsive user interfaces for internal tools that are critical to executive decision-making at the CIO level. You will work closely with product managers, business stakeholders, backend engineers, and end-users to translate complex requirements into effective frontend solutions. Your role involves taking ownership of the user experience, applying best practices in UI/UX design, and continuously proposing improvements to enhance usability and visual appeal. You will write robust unit tests, contribute to end-to-end testing strategies, and ensure seamless integration with backend services, including understanding authentication flows like OAuth. Active participation in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and architecture discussions will be key to your success. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence scalable and maintainable frontend architecture within a collaborative environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years of professional software development experience with a focus on frontend development
- Proven expertise in building complex web applications using React and TypeScript
- Strong proficiency in modern JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3
- Experience with state management libraries such as Zustand, Redux, or MobX
- Hands-on experience with component libraries, particularly Customer React Spectrum or similar systems
- Solid understanding of responsive design principles and best practices
- Experience with testing frameworks like Vitest and end-to-end testing tools such as Cypress or Playwright
- Knowledge of integrating frontend components with REST APIs and authentication protocols like OAuth
- Excellent collaboration skills and experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, responsive user interfaces using React, TypeScript, and Customer React Spectrum
- Collaborate with product managers, business stakeholders, and backend teams to translate requirements into effective frontend solutions
- Take ownership of the user experience, proposing and implementing UI/UX improvements even in the absence of detailed mockups
- Write comprehensive unit tests using frameworks like Vitest and contribute to establishing end-to-end testing practices
- Integrate frontend components with backend REST APIs, ensuring secure and efficient data flow
- Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, code reviews, and retrospectives
- Contribute to frontend architecture discussions, justifying design choices and helping implement scalable solutions
- Follow version control best practices using Git, including branching strategies and pull request workflows
- Minimum of 10 days paid vacation per year, plus 6 days paid sick leave (pro-rated for new hires)
