About The Role

DoorDash is building the world's most reliable on-demand logistics engine for delivery, and we are seeking talented Frontend Engineers to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale, 24x7 global infrastructure systems that power our innovative marketplace connecting consumers, merchants, and Dashers. Your primary focus will be on creating intuitive, visually appealing, and highly functional web interfaces that enhance the user experience. As a product-focused engineer, you will work at the intersection of product development and infrastructure, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to solve complex business problems through elegant technical solutions. This hybrid position offers a mix of remote work and in-office engagement, reporting to an Engineering Manager. Your contributions will directly impact how millions of users interact with our platform, ensuring a seamless and reliable delivery experience.

In this role, you will take ownership of client-facing applications, write robust and well-tested code, and advocate for the best customer experience through thoughtful technical and product decisions. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of 2+ years of industry experience in frontend development
• Strong understanding of cross-browser compatibility, responsive design, progressive enhancement, and accessibility standards
• Experience architecting large-scale frontend applications
• Proficiency in core web technologies: vanilla JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3
• Deep understanding of REST principles and experience working with backend APIs
• Hands-on experience with React, Redux, or similar frameworks
• Experience with documentation, unit testing, and integration testing
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Strong communication skills and a product-oriented mindset

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance frontend applications for DoorDash’s web platform
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to implement user-centric features
• Write clean, well-documented, and thoroughly tested code to ensure reliability and maintainability
• Optimize web applications for maximum speed, responsiveness, and accessibility
• Participate in code reviews, contribute to best practices, and continuously improve development processes
• Implement and improve frontend architecture to support scalable growth and feature expansion
• Ensure cross-browser compatibility and adherence to accessibility standards
• Engage with user feedback and analytics to refine and enhance the user interface
• Stay current with emerging frontend technologies and industry trends to bring innovative solutions to the team
