Senior Java Software Engineer

Senior Java Developer | Early Stage Startup | $170k + Super

Pearson Carter are working with a very exciting Startup who have build a flagship SaaS product that is helping business across a wide range of industries.

They also offer tailored solutions for their clients, and are going from strength to strength.

They are looking to hire a Senior Java Developer to take the reins of the Software Development team.

Responsibilities:

• Partner closely with the Principal Engineer to deliver features from initial design to production deployment
• Lead the development of reliable and high-performance backend systems, with a strong emphasis on scalability and stability
• Support DevOps efforts, including infrastructure provisioning and maintenance using AWS and Terraform
• Design and build robust integrations with third-party systems, such as financial platforms, IoT devices, and hardware interfaces
• Work collaboratively with Product Managers and UX Designers to ensure solutions are scalable, practical, and user-focused
• Develop and optimize API endpoints and data processing flows across the platform
• Create clear technical documentation and contribute to ongoing internal knowledge sharing

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience as a Backend Developer, preferably in SaaS or complex integration environments
• Strong proficiency in Java (preferably Java 24) with a solid grasp of functional programming principles
• Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS services such as S3 and Lambda
• Experience with infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform
• Skilled in working with relational databases, including SQL and CRUD operations
• Strong knowledge of Spring Security and security best practices for backend systems
• Proven experience in designing, building, and maintaining API-centric architectures

Salary

They offer an excellent salary of up to $170,000 + Super.

Hybrid - North Sydney
