About Us
Medverse builds VR and PC training simulations for medical devices, delivered via cloud streaming to enterprise healthcare clients. We're a small team building a scalable platform from scratch - this is an opportunity to shape both the product and how we work.
The Role
You will build and own the backend application that powers our training platform: session management, analytics pipelines, LMS integrations, and the APIs connecting our Unity applications to enterprise systems. This role involves a lot of programming as you will be the sole backend engineer.

- Firebase Cloud Functions (TypeScript)
- Firestore
- BigQuery for analytics
- AWS AppStream for streaming
- LTI 1.3 for LMS integration
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain Firebase Cloud Functions in TypeScript
- Design REST APIs for Unity client integration
- Implement LTI 1.3 integrations with enterprise learning management systems (Absorb, Cornerstone, etc.)
- Build analytics pipelines and data exports via BigQuery
- Set up monitoring, alerting, and incident response
- Ensure security and compliance for healthcare enterprise clients
Requirements
- 5+ years backend development experience
- Proficient in TypeScript/Node.js (this is not a Python, Java, or .NET role)
- Hands-on experience with serverless architectures (Firebase Functions, AWS Lambda, or similar)
- Solid understanding of REST API design and auth flows (OAuth, JWT)
- Comfortable with GCP and AWS
- Security-conscious mindset
- Strong ownership - you ship things properly, not just "done"
- Good English communication
Strong Preference For
- Firebase/GCP production experience
- Experience with enterprise integrations or B2B SaaS
- German language skills
- Based in Munich or Germany
Location
Must be based in the EU with legal right to work. Strong preference for candidates in Germany, especially Munich area. Remote-friendly with occasional on-site.
