About The Role
As a Staff iOS Engineer at Capital One Canada, you will play a pivotal role in leading the development of innovative mobile solutions that enhance our customer experience. You will be responsible for motivating, managing, and inspiring a team of talented software engineers, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages creativity and technical excellence. This role involves participating actively in the design, development, and deployment of cutting-edge iOS applications, ensuring they meet high standards of quality, performance, and security.
Our team is passionate about leveraging the latest technologies to create impactful financial products. You will work on key initiatives such as Credit Keeper, which allows customers to monitor their credit scores; enabling seamless editing of personal information within the mobile app; and Quick Check, providing customers with pre-approval insights for credit card applications. We operate fully in the cloud environment, utilizing open source tools, RESTful APIs, microservices, and containerization to deliver rapid and reliable updates to our products. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in any field, along with extensive hands-on experience in iOS application development. You should have a minimum of 6 years of experience developing native iOS applications using Swift and SwiftUI, with a strong understanding of application design, technical architecture, and full lifecycle development. Proven experience leading and mentoring junior and intermediate developers, as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, is essential. Additionally, familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS and experience working within agile environments will be highly valued.

Responsibilities
- Own and lead the delivery of major components and platform needs in partnership with senior engineers and architects to ensure scalable, high-quality solutions.
- Participate actively throughout the entire Software Development Life Cycle, from planning and design to implementation and support.
- Enhance software engineering practices by working within agile teams to design, develop, test, and deploy technical solutions across various development tools and technologies.
- Provide technical expertise on how emerging technologies impact the domain, recommending innovative approaches to improve our products.
- Mentor and guide junior, intermediate, and senior mobile engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to deliver user-centric solutions that meet business needs.
- Ensure adherence to best practices in coding standards, security, and performance optimization.
