About The Role

Our Hybrid Platform team is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join our dynamic environment in Düsseldorf. In this role, you will collaborate closely with cloud, network, and system professionals to ensure the overall operational health of our network infrastructure, including security, availability, performance, and reliability. Your expertise will be critical in designing, implementing, and maintaining a robust hybrid network environment that spans multiple clouds, data centers, and our campus facilities. You will be responsible for automating complex network tasks, troubleshooting critical issues, and developing innovative solutions to optimize our infrastructure. Additionally, you will serve as a mentor to less experienced engineers, sharing your knowledge and fostering a culture of continuous learning. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of technology, making a tangible impact on our core products and overall business operations.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should possess over five years of experience in network engineering, with a strong understanding of cloud technologies and modern data center architecture. Hands-on experience with Juniper routers, switches, and firewalls is essential. You should have a solid grasp of communication protocols such as TCP/IP and routing protocols including BGP and OSPF. Familiarity with IP Fabric and other data center networking architectures is highly desirable. Experience automating network tasks using tools like Terraform or Ansible is required. Excellent communication skills are necessary to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Additionally, you should be comfortable participating in a 24/7 on-call rotation to address critical network issues promptly.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize the network architecture of our hybrid environment across multiple clouds, data centers, and campus locations.
• Automate network processes and develop solutions to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.
• Proactively monitor network performance, security, and availability, performing root cause analysis for critical incidents.
• Document network configurations, solutions, and best practices for future reference and team knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate network infrastructure with other cloud and system components.
• Mentor and support less experienced engineers, fostering a collaborative learning environment.
• Participate in our on-call rotation, providing 24/7 support for network-related issues.
