About the Role

We are seeking a freelance Scrum Master to join our client’s dynamic IT department in Brussels for a 12-month engagement. You will empower two .NET development teams focused on building and maintaining innovative web applications that directly impact the quality of life for residents across Flanders. Your leadership will directly influence the success of digital transformation projects that serve citizens, local authorities, and housing partners.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead and coach two .NET development teams in the delivery of new and existing web applications using agile methodologies
• Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, ensuring alignment with SAFE Scrum methodology and agile best practices
• Drive continuous improvement by identifying and removing impediments, optimizing team performance, and fostering a culture of ownership
• Collaborate closely with Product Owners, business analysts, and project coordinators to ensure clear requirements and effective delivery
• Champion agile values and principles across the organization, acting as a coach and mentor for both individuals and teams
• Utilize agile tools to track progress, manage capacity, and support resource planning
• Support the digitalization of internal operations and enhance services for citizens and stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture governance and public sector standards

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience as a Scrum Master (minimum 3 years), with a strong track record in .NET development projects (minimum 5 years)
• Demonstrated expertise in facilitating the Scrum process within complex organizations
• Hands-on experience in agile coaching, with the ability to inspire and guide teams toward high performance
• Solid background in infrastructure or software development projects, ideally within the public sector
• Experience in resource management and capacity planning
• Certified Scrum Master/Agile Coach (recognized agile development methodology certification required)
• Deep understanding of agile values, principles, and tools (SAFE Scrum, Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar)
• Proven ability to facilitate and coach both individuals and teams, driving engagement and accountability
• Experience working in large, diverse IT teams with both internal and external stakeholders
• Fluency in Dutch at European CEFR level C2 is mandatory
• Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills
• Freelance availability for a 12-month contract, with the possibility of remote work
