Job description

We are looking for a Front-end Engineer for the Municipality of Eindhoven.

The assignment:

Managing a design system so that online common ground products such as NL-Portal (MijnEindhoven0 and Open Formulieren) comply with the municipal corporate identity.

What are the tasks and responsibilities?

A. Managing the design system for NL Portal and Open Formulieren during the assignment, which includes:

1. Keep NPM dependencies up-to-date within all front-end projects.
2. Updating and expanding documentation within Docusaurus.
3. Monitor and ensure the functioning of Azure DevOps frontend pipelines:
4. Build pipelines for Storybook, Docusaurus, NLP and (optionally) Open Forms.
5. Working with and maintaining private packages via Azure Artifacts.
6. Support the maintenance of custom React components, including associated unit tests.
7. Manage styling via Sass, including use of the central Sass package with mixins.

B. Implementing the Design System in the production environment

C. Transferring knowledge and expertise regarding the management and setup of a design system for web applications to the line organization for the (1-7-2026)

What is the end result?

The work has been transferred to the line organization and the future manager has been trained.

What will be delivered (interim)?

Updates of new releases, test results updates, adjusted documentation with updates.

What are you bringing?

1. React with TypeScript (must).
2. Playwright for smoke and end-to-end testing.
3. Biome and occasionally Prettier for formatting.
4. Azure Repos, Azure DevOps, Azure Artifacts.
5. Sass, own Sass package, design
6. Kknowledge and experience with a Kubernetes platform (the platform needed to run the common ground components)
