Business Development Director
What You’ll Be Doing – Key Accountabilities
As an enthusiastic and commercially driven Business Development Director, you will lead consultative engagement with major Enterprise and Government customers, guiding them on their digital transformation journey and positioning the organisation as a long‑term strategic partner.
Your key accountabilities will include:
- Developing and closing high‑value, consultative sales opportunities with large Enterprise and Government customers
- Creating future‑ready customer environments using Network, Cloud Infrastructure, ICT, Monitoring and Managed Service solutions
- Enabling customers to build agile, digitally enabled workforces through Collaboration and Unified Communications solutions
- Designing tailored private and public cloud solutions that balance customer risk, cost and scalability
- Owning delivery and overachievement of revenue and gross margin targets across a defined target acquisition account base
- Building and maintaining deep architectural knowledge, forming informed opinions on leading and emerging technologies relevant to customer operations
- Designing and selling complex, multi‑tower solutions that deliver measurable business outcomes at maximum achievable profitability
- Influencing incremental and cross‑portfolio sales opportunities across the full solution portfolio
- Building and maintaining a 3× pipeline to ensure consistent target delivery
- Developing and executing robust sales plans using agreed methodologies to retain, grow and acquire business
- Maintaining an accurate, qualified sales forecast supported by a robust pipeline
- Partnering with Finance and Pricing to understand customer P&L models, optimise margins and ensure competitive pricing alignment
- Ensuring full compliance with internal governance including CRM updates, forecasting, opportunity planning, account development plans and pipeline management
- Building strong, trusted relationships at C‑suite and board level across Enterprise and Government accounts
- Representing the organisation at internal and external industry events to promote products, services and thought leadership
- Acting as the central coordination point for all business activity within assigned accounts
- Working closely with customer and operational teams to align service delivery with each customer’s strategic objectives
Skills Required for the Role
- Strong analytical capability, including forecasting, pipeline management, P&L analysis and competitor evaluation
- Deep knowledge of enterprise technology propositions and the business outcomes they deliver, including:

- Hosting & Cloud
- Customer Contact
- Voice & Unified Communications
- Security & Managed Services
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding targets in a technical solution sales environment
- Ability to manage change while prioritising multiple, complex demands
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with strong influencing and negotiation ability
- Confidence and credibility to engage strategically at board and executive level
- Strong financial and commercial acumen
- High levels of resilience and personal drive, consistently achieving results against challenging targets
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing effectively as part of a wider team
- Willingness to travel and work from customer and business sites as required
Background & Profile
- 10+ years’ experience in Enterprise / Solution Sales
- Strong commercial acumen with consistent delivery of revenue and margin targets
- Experience selling strategic, technically complex solutions requiring multi‑stakeholder engagement
- Strong technical capability in managing and contributing to technical bids
- High energy, proactive mindset and a visible agent for change
