About the Role

Our client is on a mission to revolutionize how infrastructure plans are archived, accessed, and managed. As a Full Stack Developer, you’ll be at the heart of building a digital plan repository that empowers teams to consult, classify, and leverage critical infrastructure data with ease and precision. This is a freelance opportunity for 12 months, based in Belgium, with partial remote flexibility.

The digital plan repository is more than a tool — it’s a foundation for smarter, faster, and more collaborative infrastructure management. By centralizing and digitizing plans, you’ll help eliminate silos, streamline access, and enable data-driven decisions across the organization. Your work will directly impact how teams build, maintain, and innovate on essential infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain a robust backend using Java and Spring Boot, ensuring seamless integration with Oracle Spatial databases.
• Build intuitive, high-performance front-end interfaces with Angular, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Integrate advanced mapping and geospatial features using Geoviewer, ESRI APIs, Leaflet, OpenLayers, or Mapbox.
• Develop and optimize RESTful APIs for efficient data access and management.
• Implement secure authentication, access management, and logging in line with OWASP best practices.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including Digital Project Managers and infrastructure experts, to deliver user-centric solutions.
• Drive data migration and integration, including recovery of existing data and onboarding of new datasets.
• Leverage CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI) to ensure smooth deployment and continuous improvement.
• Contribute to the development of FME jobs and support ESRI geoprocessing tools as needed.
• Ensure compliance with SPW Digital standards and user requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

• Java & Spring Boot (Junior level)

• RESTful API development (Junior level)
• Containers (Junior level)
• DevOps: CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI (Junior level)
• FME Jobs Development (Junior level)
• Geospatial APIs: Geoviewer, ESRI API, Leaflet, OpenLayers, Mapbox (Junior level)
• Application Security: Familiarity with OWASP best practices (Junior level)

• Part-time commitment: 2.5 days per week

Language Proficiency

• Professional proficiency in English required
• Knowledge of French or Dutch is a plus
