Satellite Systems Engineer

Overview

Relocation to Bremen is Mandatory !

For OHB System AG at the Bremen site, a Systems Engineer for the National Constellation

Program is being sought for the Telekom Systems division due to the development of a new major

project.

Tasks

• Technical and organizational management of the constellation program system engineers,
  
  

initially in phase B1, to achieve the technical goals of the mission

• Function as an interface to project management and the customer for all technical questions
• Definition of the system requirements (incl. verification approach), coordinated with the
  
  

project management

• Evaluation of ongoing development and technical design, including the initialization of
  
  

independent analyses according to the overall system requirements and initiation of

corrective measures in the event of major deviations

• Determination of a system engineering process for the organization and workflows between
  
  

the employees of the technical departments in the company and the project management

• Ensuring the exchange of technical information and networking within the project team,
  
  

within the project team with telecommunications systems and the functional/engineering

departments

• Organization of regular checkpoints during the project, integration of cost and technical
  
  

budget contributions to determine the total budgets at the system level

• Responsible for the timely delivery of inputs/outputs of the system engineering team
• Support of the project management in risk assessment, cost structure and overall planning
• Collaboration with the payload department in telecommunications and the other satellite
  
  

technology department on satellite design

• Support for studies and projects related to the telecommunications systems business
• Support in the cost optimization of the products for the telecommunications platform
  
  

Project Character & Working Methods

The team is working on a major national project, which cannot be communicated in more detail at

the moment. There are interfaces with OHB Digital Connect, as the order provides an overall system

and not just the satellite system.

Profile / Requirements

• Master's degree in aerospace engineering or equivalent qualification
• At least 5 years of experience in space as a technical/systemic leader in applications, studies
  
  

(Phase A/B) and projects (Phase B2/C/D)

• Experience in system engineering from mission definition (including constellation) and
  
  

satellite/platform/subsystem design including AIV/AIT phase

• Experience in the technical fields of space communication systems, especially
  
  

telecommunications, satellites

• Strong self-motivation and the ability to personally identify with the goals
• Strong ability to challenge the technical basis and to propose or implement corrective
  
  

actions

• Very good communication skills and ability to work in a team
• Very good communication skills in German and English
  
  

Team & Environment

The team for Telecom Systems consists of 5-6 employees (currently the team is under construction)

for the upcoming project. The team is international. Since the project is a national one, a person who

is fluent in German and fluent in English is needed. Currently, the position has no leadership

character. However, if the person to be hired is interested in a disciplinary leadership role, this can be

discussed in the future.

The position is advertised for the Bremen location. The person should therefore live in Bremen or the

surrounding area, or be willing to move to Bremen.
